Well done to all of the Year 9 students that volunteered at the Parallel Youth Games at the Triangle in Burgess Hill. The games are a disability event for all schools in Sussex and children take part in a range of activities from New Age Kurling to Cricket.  Oathall’s Year 9 students officiated in the Boccia and played their part in making the event both enjoyable and successful.

Year 8 student Luc Rohan took part as a competitor in the Mid-Sussex swimming team.  Our congratulations go to Luc who achieved two 1st places and one 2nd place in his events, leading to a gold medal for the Mid Sussex Team. Luc will now start training for the athletics at the Sussex School Games finals at K2 on Wednesday 10th July. (more…)

On Wednesday 26 May, the U15 Rounders team won the West Sussex PE Girls Association area tournament.

The girls played exceptionally well throughout,  beating Weald 10-2,  Downlands 5-5½, Hazelwick 10-3 and Warden Park 5-1. We drew against Millais 5-5 but luckily still got into the final.  We were up against Burgess Hill School for Girls.

It was a great game, the girls held their own and won 4-1 ½ getting 8 of the opposition players out! Congratulations to all who played, an amazing victory!

Meet the new senior student leadership team!

17th May 2013Oathall

With the current Year 11 students studying hard for their GCSE exams it’s time to put in place our brand new year 10 student leadership team. The process, led by Ms Gyngell involved a whole school vote, submission of CV’s and letters of applications as well as being interviewed by a panel of teaching staff and the year 11 senior prefects before being awarded the posts.

We are consequently delighted to introduce the new Head Boy and Head Girl, Nile Jones & Shannon King along with their deputies James Habineza & Keris Self.  Becoming a senior student leader is a great achievement and the entire prefect team goes through a training course before being allowed to start their duties. We have every confidence that this group of mature and confident individuals will do a great job in the coming year. Good Luck!
