School meals at Oathall are prepared and served by our own in-house catering team. Our catering team are committed to delivering the highest standards using fresh, good quality ingredients. The food and drink that we offer comply with the school food plan standards.

Menus are rotated every two weeks. From time to time, we may vary our menu particularly if ingredients are not readily available or if we are featuring a themed menu.

We also serve at break and lunch, a selection of sandwiches, baguettes, rolls and bagels. As well as a variety of fruit, salads and yogurts and homemade cakes. Water and assorted cold drinks are also sold. (Water is also available from a drinking station during break times).

We offer gluten-free and vegan menus but ask that your child pre-orders this each day with the canteen team to avoid waste.

Meal deals & free school meals
Students on free school meals can buy one of our three meal deal choices at lunch break. These are: a main meal and dessert; pasta with sauce and dessert, or a fixed price sandwich and dessert/piece of fruit. Meal deals can be bought by all students.

We operate a nut-free policy but we are not always able to guarantee that nuts are not brought into the school by other children.

If your child has any specific dietary requirements please email the school office and we will do our best to accommodate any requests.

Oathall uses a cashless payment system for buying school meals and refreshments. Accounts are automatically assigned to every student. If your child is going to use the canteen you must add funds to their dinner money account using ParentPay. Students entitled to free school meals have £3.10 added to their account every day.

To prevent students from buying too many items in one go, we set a daily expenditure limit of £8 per student. If you want this to be changed to a lower or higher amount please email the school office. We recommend keeping a minimum balance of about £15 on your child’s account if they are a regular canteen user.
