2024 Oathall Colour Run

25th June 2024J Godbolt

Oathall hosted it’s very first house charity colour run last Wednesday. We had over 250 students take part and the event raised over £650 for the school’s house charities.

Students had to run 1 mile around the athletics trap whilst getting coloured paint powered thrown over them along the way! It was a fantastic way for our students to get active, have fun and raise money for some really important charities. It was a wonderful occasion for the school community, with many teachers throwing the paint and some even running!

The results from the house competition will be revealed to students in assemblies very soon.

The month of May has brought a raft of successes in competitions for Oathall’s students.

This is a UK-wide translation competition organised by Queen’s College, Oxford University, this year the jury received over 3,600 entries from 16,000 students. The judges remarked on the high standard and fantastic creativity on display from our students. Ofsted Inspection

12th September 2023J Godbolt

We have been contacted by Ofsted today and they have told us that an inspection will take place this week on Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 September.

You can find an Ofsted guide for parents here which gives you all the information that you need about the inspection process.

In addition, you please click here to see a letter from Ofsted, telling you about the Ofsted Parent View survey.

Ofsted Parent View asks parents for their opinion on some aspects of the school, including the progress made by your child, the quality of teaching, how the school deals with bullying and poor behaviour. It also provides a free-text box for you to make additional comments, if you wish. The inspectors will use the online survey responses when inspecting the school. I would encourage you to complete this survey if you are able to do so.

Letters about the inpsection have been sent home by email and students have had assemblies today to let them know about the process.

MCAS – My child at school

2nd September 2022J Godbolt

Oathall uses the Bromcom portal for parents called MyChildAt School or MCAS for short.

What is MCAS?

MyChildAtSchool (MCAS) is a portal that can enable parents to view their child’s academic
performance in real-time via a web browser mobile app. This facility allows exclusive
access to key academic dates, attendance information, and personal details the
school holds for you and your child. This portal will also provide access to other features such as homework, assessment & reports, timetables, behaviour, and parental consent. Initially, we may only launch some of these aspects whilst we continue to test and set up the functionality.

There are two ways of accessing MCAS.

  1. You can download the MCAS app to use on your mobile device. We encourage parents to set up the app on their mobile devices. This means we can send notifications about your child to your mobile phone.
  2. If you prefer, you can also set up your account via a web browser.

How to access MCAS

We will issue parents with an invitation code. This will be sent using the email address that you have provided to the school. If you do not have an invitation code please contact the school on [email protected] as you will not be able to set up an account without one.

When you have your invitation you will need to go to the parent login page at Mychildatschool.com from here please click on the “Redeem invitation code” and complete the instructions to set up your account. Full instructions may be found here in this guide.
