National Recognition For Our Outstanding Artists

10th July 2013Mrs L BRUCE

The National Students Art Exhibition, Mall Galleries, London

Congratulations to our gifted and talented Art and Photography students whose work has been selected to be exhibited in The National Students Art Exhibition, Mall Galleries, London. The exhibition, which opened on the 9 July, is under the patronage of the Royal Society of British Artists and it is a marvellous accolade for the artists and schools selected.  This is the third year running that Oathall students’ work has been exhibited and we are delighted that so many of our students have been recognised at this level.

And here’s a clip of our students being interviewed.

Isla – Day One.

8th July 2013J Godbolt

We had an action packed day on Sunday which took in, rehearsals  for the musicians and Spanish lessons for the rest of us (we found out how to say ‘do you have any sellotape?’) followed by a trip to the prehistoric caves at Altamira, and the the rest  of the day spent in Santillana del Mar which ended with our first live performance. The setting was beautiful, the acoustics marvelous and our students were a knock-out with the large audience that gathered to watch us.  Later on today we hope to get time to master the rather slow upload speeds (might be something to do with 40 odd teenagers all trying to go through one wireless access point?) and post some photos.

Finally here…

6th July 2013J Godbolt

It’s been a bit of a long journey with an extra 2 hr’s added to the time due to traffic near Bordeaux but we’ve arrived, settled in, been for a paddle on the beach and a swim in the pool, eaten and now everyone’s settling down for a long anticipated sleep. More news to follow tomorrow.

Activities at Windmill Hill

1st July 2013A Oathall

Year 7 students participated in 8 different activities during their weekend stay at Windmill Hill.

Every student was given the opportunity to test their nerve in the challenging tasks on offer.

Good team work and encouragement together, with lots of fun, ensured that all students achieved things that they didn’t think possible.
