Our blog about this year’s music and Spanish trip to Cantabria.

11th July 2013J Godbolt

Well, we all made it home safely after our fun-filled, musical, Spanish experience! Sorry that we weren’t able to post much whilst we were away but here are a few photographic memories of our trip. Thanks to Emma, Gemma, Miss Driscoll and Mrs Godbolt for their photographs.

We’ve arrived!
Look we’re famous!
Rehearsing at the hotel

Spanish lessons with Mr Wright
Plaza Major Panorama
Santillana performance

Chocolate, donuts and ‘Bison con Bison’
“Protest’ Live in Santander
Chameleon – Herbie Hancock

The full line up in Santander
We learnt how to cook (& eat) Paella.
We did a risk assessment – honest!

Isla – Day One.

8th July 2013J Godbolt

We had an action packed day on Sunday which took in, rehearsals  for the musicians and Spanish lessons for the rest of us (we found out how to say ‘do you have any sellotape?’) followed by a trip to the prehistoric caves at Altamira, and the the rest  of the day spent in Santillana del Mar which ended with our first live performance. The setting was beautiful, the acoustics marvelous and our students were a knock-out with the large audience that gathered to watch us.  Later on today we hope to get time to master the rather slow upload speeds (might be something to do with 40 odd teenagers all trying to go through one wireless access point?) and post some photos.

Finally here…

6th July 2013J Godbolt

It’s been a bit of a long journey with an extra 2 hr’s added to the time due to traffic near Bordeaux but we’ve arrived, settled in, been for a paddle on the beach and a swim in the pool, eaten and now everyone’s settling down for a long anticipated sleep. More news to follow tomorrow.
