Our students knocked it out of the park at the public speaking event yesterday! Their confidence, creativity, and passion were truly inspiring, and the audience was completely captivated.
Here are just a few highlights:
- Ella stole the show with her witty discussion on feminism. Her clear and engaging delivery kept the audience on the edge of their seats- even winning the proposer of the event!
- Elizabeth and Martha made the audience think about what it means to be a feminist! From David Cameron’s questionable fashion choices to the iconic Barbie movie- they were more than ‘ken-ough’ and would have made the suffragettes proud!
- Emma, Jasmine, and Peter presented such an intellectual debate last night on the death penalty showing just how intelligent and worldly-wise our students are! they took the audience on a roller coaster of emotions…
They truly represented the very best of Oathall’s talent, showcasing their critical thinking, communication skills, and stage presence.
We are pleased to announce that our performance faculty are preparing another fantastic school production. Our summer show this year will be Romeo and Juliet.
Well done to our Y10s who had a great time Speed Networking with more than 40 local employers yesterday as part of our Extended Learning programme. The employers were so impressed with the students’ team work, communication and listening skills, logical thinking and thoughtful questions. And thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who gave up their time to come in to talk to the students, we couldn’t have done it without them.

On Friday, 2 February, and Friday, 9 February, between 3:05pm and 3:35pm, there will be an opportunity to reclaim lost property. All items will be displayed in the dining hall at these times for students and parents to come to collect. Many of the items are not named.
The Self-Harm Learning Network will be holding a one-hour webinar on self-harm.
This week we will be looking at The Holocaust Memorial Day during our assemblies. We look to remember those who were murdered for who they were and to stand against prejudice and hatred today.
