The Oathall year 10 netball team continued their winning form this week by triumphing in the end-of-season tournament, making this the second year running that the team have won both the Mid Sussex league as well as the area tournament.
Well done to the team, and thank you to all involved.
Our fantastic under 16 girls football team enjoyed their first match against Haywards Heath College yesterday (Wednesday, 28 February). Although Oathall narrowly lost that match, they played incredibly well against an older, more experienced team. Well done to everyone involved, and special thanks go to their ‘Supercoach’ and team captain for organising the team so well.
Congratulations.
The equestrian team has had more success recently.
One of our students came 1st in the 90cm show-jumping and 4th in the 1m show-jumping class, qualifying for Hickstead in both classes. Another of our students not only qualified for the County Dressage Championships (due to be held at Hickstead in May), but they also placed first in another competition and second in another!
Well done to you both, and thank you to everyone involved in making it possible for these students to excel and enjoy their sport.
Congratulations.
Students are invited to take part in the annual Modern Foreign Languages faculty ‘Around the world in a cake’ competition.
Just bake and decorate your cake and bring it to the Modern Foreign Languages faculty on Friday, 22 March before school.
Good luck!
Here are some of the entries from last year…
Parent Partnership meeting: Thursday, 29 February – 5 pm – Oathall Library
Agenda: Teaching and Learning, and Uniform
Leads/guest speakers: Faye Hatchard & Zoe Froud (Assistant Headteachers)
The Parent Partnership was established in March 2018 and meets once every half term to discuss important issues for both parents and the school. It aims to be successful in contributing positively to the development of our School Community. The Partnership has a dual purpose:
- Provides a stakeholder panel for views on new initiatives and developments within the school
- Provides parents with a voice in the development of the school
The group will meet in the library at Oathall between 5 pm and 6 pm. All parents are welcome to attend; there is no commitment required. Please do come along and offer your voice to the discussions. The agenda for each meeting is sent out to all parents via the school email system the week before the meeting takes place.
For further information please contact Miss Froud, Assistant Headteacher, 01444 414001 or via email on [email protected]
Confident learners and confident people. This is what we strive to achieve here at Oathall. This half term will explore how to be an upstander and how to improve one’s self-esteem, as well as culminating in a house celebration assembly.
Our Under 15s cricket team are through to the finals! They beat The Weald, Dorothy Stringer, and finally BACA to make it through. Well done Oathall!
We are looking forward to 20 March when they play to (hopefully) lift the trophy.
Congratulations, and thank you to all involved.
