Another great win for the under 14 girls against a very strong Warden Park. They went in 1-1 at half time. A very quick hat trick from Ella, two goals from Maegan and a long range stunner from another of our Ellas’ gave the girls a 6-3 win.
Great performance all round. Special mention to Kacey for her solid defending and positivity all through the game.
Award-winning author, Catherine Johnson, visited Oathall yesterday to speak to and work with students from year 7. She spoke to the whole year group about herself, her love of history and how she incorporates that into her novels. She answered questions from the students and had them hooked with her passion for writing. She also ran two writing workshops for students selected by their English teachers, using props as inspiration for plot creation. Finally, Catherin had lunch with the year 7 book club and signed books that students had pre-purchased. It was a wonderful day, and an inspiring one that will last in the memory for a long time.

Fair trade is an arrangement designed to help producers in growing countries achieve sustainable and equitable trade relationships. The fair trade movement combines the payment of higher prices to exporters with improved social and environmental standards.

We are delighted to welcome award-winning British author Catherine Johnson to Oathall on Thursday, 23 February. She will speak to all our year 7 students and work with small groups, focusing on writing skills. “The National Literacy Trust recently published a report which indicates that author visits to schools have a positive relationship with children and young people’s reading skills, and their enjoyment and confidence in both reading and writing.” 1 November 2022

A warm welcome to the newest member of the Oathall Equestrian Team who placed 13th after completing a great round at The Golden Cross Equestrian Centre, NSEA Eventers Challenge on Saturday. A large number of schools from across the South East competed, making this placing a fantastic achievement for her first NSEA competition. Well done.

This assembly celebrates all the hard work and achievements from this half term.
Yesterday evening the Oathall under-14’s girl’s football team won 7-1 against Sackville in a fantastic display of skill and teamwork. With great leadership from the captain, and a free kick described by our own Miss Murray as one that “David Beckham would’ve been proud of”, our under-14s set the example of fair play and team spirit throughout.
Well done to all involved.
