A huge well done to our fantastic debating team who have done an incredible job at the Youth Speaks competition. Achieving a place at the District Final was a fantastic achievement in itself, but our students have WON their District Final and are now through to the Regional Final.
Congratulations to all involved, and good luck in the Regional Final.
Oathall PTA Quiz night is back.
The baton has been securely passed from Roger and Hilary to Stephen and his team. The new team have excellent credentials, having previously taken over hosting the quiz night from Roger and Hilary at Lindfield Primary school. They have many successful quiz nights under their belt and we are delighted that they are going to bring this unique evening to Oathall.
Join us on Friday, 24 March from 7.30 – 11.30pm for a night of quizzing, fun and food.
Teams of 6 at £15 per head.
As usual please bring plates and condiments (cutlery will be provided). We are offering a choice of curries or chilli on the night with all the trimmings.
There will be a prize for the best-dressed table so pull your teams together, think of a team name, make your food choices and pay via Parentpay.
We look forward to seeing you on 24 March.

International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
Oathall is celebrating World Day right through this week.
On Monday, students were invited to the Library to design their own book cover, or compose some blackout poetry. Tuesday was Open Mic in the Library where students (and staff) were invited to read aloud, or just come to listen to others. Today (Wednesday) is ‘Whispering Wednesday’ – a weekly event where students can come to the Library and enjoy quiet activities like origami. Thursday is Kahoot quiz day, and Friday is ‘The Big Quiz’ where students are invited to form teams of up to five to compete to become quiz champions.
See the Library Newsletter for more information about World Book Day.
Congratulations to Oathall’s Cherry Clutton, who has achieved fantastic results in her rowing. Representing Ardingly Rowing Club, and working with teammate Ellen, last weekend they competed at the Inter-Regional trials at London Docklands and won! – snatching the win from Bewl Bridge Rowing Club by 2 seconds.! The team of two will now represent the South East at Nottingham’s Holmepierepoint in April.
Congratulations on this amazing achievement, and good luck in the upcoming competition in April.
