Last week, Oathall students took part in the Rotary International Youth Speaks event. The senior team made up of Dice Barker, Emma Hord and Martha Ford successfully won their heat and will go on to represent Oathall at the semi-final this week. Our intermediate team made up of Charlotte Hord, Fletcher Roberts and Jasmine Sutherland, put on a great performance, but were unfortunately not successful on this occasion.
Well done to both of our fantastic teams, and good luck to the senior team in the semi-final.
The next Children’s Mental Health Week will take place on 6-12 February 2023. The theme is ‘Let’s Connect’. Human beings thrive in communities, and this connection is vital for our well-being, and our survival. When we have healthy connections – to family, friends and others – this can support our mental health and our sense of well-being. And when our need for rewarding social connections is not met, we can sometimes feel isolated and lonely – which can have a negative impact on our mental health.
Let’s Connect is about making meaningful connections for all, during Children’s Mental Health Week – and beyond.

The Parent Partnership was established in March 2018 and meets once every half term to discuss important issues for both parents and the school. It aims to be successful in contributing positively to the development of our School Community. The Partnership has a dual purpose:
The group will meet in the library at Oathall between 5 pm and 6 pm. All parents are welcome to attend; there is no commitment required. Please do come along and offer your voice to the discussions. The agenda for each meeting is sent out to all parents via the school email system the week before the meeting takes place.
For further information please contact Miss Froud, Assistant Headteacher, 01444 414001 or via email on [email protected]
Well done to the Oathall Under-12 Hockey Team who won 3-0 in their first 11-a-side game last week.
Congratulations to all involved.

Holocaust Memorial Day is the day for everyone to remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution, and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur.
As part of our ongoing drive to continuously improve as a school, we welcome feedback from parents and families of our students. To this end, we would like to draw attention to a letter sent on Tuesday this week asking for feedback regarding the current method of reporting student attainment and progress. Your responses to this survey are extremely valuable and help us to improve. Thank you.
This week, we took our lovely GCSE Drama students to see The Woman in Black at the Fortune Theatre in London – linking to their written exam. Students were informed, entertained and immersed into such a wonderful show! They did Oathall proud with their maturity when venturing into the capital. Students and staff thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
Oathall PTA is hosting a ‘Pre-loved Prom shop’ for all Year 11’s on 21 February, so they have the opportunity to make the event more environmentally friendly and reduce costs.
