Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The Stonewall Uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.

15 May – 15 June is Tourette’s Awareness Month, the Neurodiversity Network are raising awareness about Tourette’s and dispelling some of the myths that surround it.
Through celebration, education and raising awareness, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month helps to tackle prejudice, challenge myths and to amplify the voices of Gypsies, Roma and Travellers in wider society.
This year our theme for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month is ‘What Makes a Home?’
It is at this time of year that we start to say farewell to our year 11 students. At the end of their time at Oathall, families will often choose to make a donation to the school as a thank-you. Many thanks to the families who have already done so. Any donations we receive will be used to buy more books for the library. The books we buy will be ones suggested by students and on topics that reflect their interests and passions.
If you would like to donate, you can do so via ParentPay.
Thank you.
With the end of our summer term approaching, we start to say goodbye to our year 11s. At the end of their time at Oathall, often there may be pieces of uniform that are still in good condition but no longer needed. Similarly, as students move through the school, pieces of uniform are outgrown before they are out-warn. We kindly ask that if you have any items of Oathall uniform that are still in good repair and which you have no need to keep, we would be happy to accept them. We are always in need of uniform items for families who need helping out or for students who lose or damage kit. Please bring clean items in a bag to reception.
Thank you.
Oathall students have been working on the Mid Sussex STEM challenge since September. Their brief was to build and race a buggy remotely around a circuit. The Driver could not see the buggy so a camera and FPV (First Person View) system had to be developed.
Our students performed really well and managed to win the trophy for first place in the race.
Well done, and thank you to all involved.
This year’s South of England Show will be held from Friday, 9 June to Sunday, 11 June, and once again, Oathall will be there. Our fantastic farm team have worked tirelessly all year, and we look forward to another successful show.
We hope to see you there.
Last week, Oathall students enjoyed a fantastic trip to Ypres as part of our enrichment programme. Setting off in the early hours and not getting back until late in the day, our students represented Oathall well with their exemplary behaviour and great attitude to learning.
Thank you to everyone involved with all the hard work involved in making this trip a reality.
