If someone is stereotyped as something, people form a fixed general idea or image of them. This assembly challenges some of these views!
Oathall musicians had great fun rehearsing with Warden Park students for our joint performance at the Cuckfield Festival on 14 June.
Oathall is pleased to be exhibiting at the South of England Show 2022, taking a range of our farm animals for display and approximately 80 students will be involved across the three-day event.
It is a chance for students to engage with the public and talk about their involvement on the farm and what the unique educational resource means to them. They will also be able to experience a fantastic agricultural showpiece on our doorstep and all that it has to offer. We are looking forward to bringing new ideas and enthusiasm back to the farm helping to enrich and develop the resource further.
Once again, Oathall Canteen Staff have made a special event really memorable for students and staff alike, with cakes, sweets, a special menu, decorations, music, and even an ice cream parlour. Today has been full of fun and celebration.
Thank you to all involved.
At Oathall we use a cashless payment system for buying school meals and refreshments in the canteen. During the pandemic, we stopped using biometric fingerprint technology and used account cards instead. However, we prefer students to use biometric finger recognition technology to access their account as it is far more efficient and secure. Students who started at Oathall between March 2020 and the current time have not had their fingerprints scanned to access their canteen accounts biometrically.
We have now reinstated biometrics for other year groups and we would now like to register our students in Year 7 & Year 8 so they can use their fingerprints. To do this, we require parental consent.
If you are a parent of a student in Year 7 or Year 8, please complete the consent form indicating whether or not you would like your child’s fingerprint to be scanned and registered for biometric use in the canteen.
Further information can be found in the letter to parents sent earlier in the week.
Thursday, 26 May 2022 is National Thank A Teacher Day and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the fantastic work of schools, colleges, teachers and support staff across the country.
We at Oathall would like to take this opportunity recognise the fabulous work of our staff. Thank you for all your hard work over this academic year.
For more information, please visit the National Thank A Teacher website.
In celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Oathall Canteen Staff will be offering students a special celebration menu. In addition to this, students will also have the opportunity to purchase a portion of ice cream from the Ice Cream Parlour.
This event will be held during lunchtime on Friday 27 May.

This assembly celebrates all the hard work and achievements from this half term.
Cellist Aglaia Carvalho-Dubost received a standing ovation for her beautiful performance of the Saint-Saens Cello Concerto with the Burgess Hill Symphony Orchestra on the evening of Saturday 14th May 2022, under the baton of Mike Woods. This was quite unique for a person her age to perform as a soloist at this level, and she executed the technically challenging solo cello part with such expressive detail. Teachers and fellow students were there to support her and a wonderful evening was had by all.
