Author Visit – Chris Bradford

17th November 2025E

Our year 8 students were enthralled when award-winning author Chris Bradford visited Oathall recently. Author of three main series and lots of shorter books, he focused on his first and most popular series, Young Samurai. Our students watched as he demonstrated his skills with the katana (Samurai sword), and they volunteered to come up and serve as his models for various activities, all focused on bringing his books to life. He proved that books are full of adventure, excitement and built a real atmosphere of curiosity that will have them intrigued for a long time.

17th November 2025E
At Oathall, we are immensely proud of the outstanding contribution our support staff make every single day. From keeping our school running smoothly to offering care, guidance and encouragement to our students, their work is truly invaluable.
From 17–21 November, we will be celebrating their dedication with themed assemblies, where their hard work will be recognised and appreciated. During the week, our support staff will also receive all the wonderful nominations submitted by parents, teachers and students, more than 300 heartfelt messages, which is an incredible response.
A huge thank you to all our support staff for everything you do to support our school community. We are grateful for you, today and every day.

Show Racism the Red Card

17th October 2025E

Today staff and students at Oathall are “Wearing Red” in support of the charity Show Racism the Red Card. We have had assemblies this week delivered by our outstanding School and House Captains to deliver this message. Today we are wearing red to hold up our own red cards and to demonstrate that we stand in solidarity against racism and prejudice in all its forms. We also hope to raise awareness about the importance of anti-racism education so that we can live in a fair and equal society where racism is seen as completely unacceptable.
