General Catering Assistant

25 hours a week

Oathall currently has a vacancy for a General Catering Assistant.  The successful candidate will assist with the daily preparation, serving and clearing up of meals and refreshments for students at Oathall.  The successful applicant must be willing to train for the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.

Faculty Assistant / Cover Supervisors required for September 2019 start

English and Humanities faculties

30hrs per week

 

We currently have support staff vacancies to support students’ learning and to raise attainment. Working as part of a faculty team, your role will be to provide in and out of class support to students as well as providing administrative support for teachers in your faculty.  The role also involves covering lessons for short term teacher absences in your faculty and occasionally in other subject areas.

Posts are available in our English and Humanities Faculties.

Candidates must be literate, numerate and be a competent user of IT, with the skill to support students across all age groups in secondary education.   We offer a comprehensive training package including an induction programme.  As a partner in the local Teaching School alliance, we welcome and support applications from those interested in looking to start a career in teaching.

Experience in this area isn’t necessary but a keenness to develop your skills and knowledge of working with young people is essential. A full induction package, ongoing training and development will be provided. The school is extremely supportive of staff considering progressing into teaching and can actively guide people into teacher training.

You would be expected to work Monday to Friday, 8.45 to 3.15 including an unpaid 30 minute break. There may be some flexibility about working less days. There are 5 teacher INSET days that you would not be expected to attend. The post is term time only.

Cover Supervisors required for September 2019 start

We are seeking highly motivated, confident and well organised people to join our staff as Cover Supervisors. The post will suit someone with a natural ability to engage with young people. The position is an outstanding opportunity to gain experience in a school environment, possibly as a step towards a career in teaching.

Cover supervisors oversee whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers and generally assist pupils in undertaking set activities. They are also required to supervise students at lunchtime. When they are not covering a lesson they carry out a range of administrative tasks that can draw on the individual’s particular skill set.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER

PART TIME (0.6 FTE)

Temporary to cover Maternity Leave

 

We are seeking to appoint a part time teacher of Physical Education to cover a maternity leave with effect from 1st November 2019.  The person appointed will be required to teach PE at Key Stage 3 and 4. The ability to teach dance would be an advantage. Applications are welcome from experienced teachers, NQTs, and former teachers returning to teaching.

Physical Education and dance operate within the Performance faculty which also includes Music and Drama.  Strong teaching is a feature across the faculty and thorough, well resourced schemes are in place for all year groups to support teaching and learning. Learning is enriched with a wide range of extra-curricular activities including clubs and competitive fixtures.

PE and dance both benefit from outstanding facilities at Oathall. These include a purpose built dance studio, a flood lit 3G artificial pitch and a newly refurbished sports hall.

Job Description

SEND & Inclusion Secretarial Administrator

Grade 5

35 hours a week, term time only plus one week.

 We are looking for a highly organised and efficient administrator who is calm under pressure and able to use a high level of initiative to get the work done.

You will be involved in processing significant amounts of specialist information and so excellent attention to detail is vital. The role will involve frequent liaison with teaching staff, parents and students as well as professionals from external agencies.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday. Start and finish times can be confirmed with the successful candidate but you would be expected to cover the core school day (8.45 – 15.10) including an unpaid 30 minute break. You will be expected to work an additional week spread between the end and beginning of the academic year to ensure a smooth start in the autumn term.
