Over 40 year 8 students explored Hampton Court Palace and learned how Henry Vlll had lived here during the Tudor era. As well as the impressive Great Hall, Chapel Great Watching Chamber and courtyards, we also visited the Great Kitchens where meals were prepared for Henry’s 600 guests, the vast wine cellar, and of course the haunted gallery. Fact-Finding activities were combined with an audio tour. A picnic lunch in the impressive gardens was followed by losing ourselves in the UK’s oldest surviving hedge maze. In fact, some of us lost ourselves more than once. A well-earned ice cream was had before the coach journey home. Well done to all of year 8 who came with us, you were a delight.
