Our top readers in year 8 went to hear award-winning author Sarah Crossan recently and what an event they were treated to. Sarah writes novels in verse and she talked about what poetry is, how verse is all around us, and she challenged the audience to think about what poetry is. One of our students even went up on stage to perform a rap from the musical Hamilton, proving that verse can be found in many forms. Our students came away buzzing and eager to read her books and others in verse.
