On Wednesday 6 March, three members of the Leadership Academy were given the opportunity to volunteer at the Winter Sussex School Games at Lancing College, a huge event involving Primary and Secondary schools from across East and West Sussex. Year 10 students Faye Leslie, Sam Mitchell and Stefan Kohli were allocated jobs to do on the day and with Faye reporting, Sam on information point and Stefan in charge of the VIPs, they made a highly efficient team.
Great Britain Hockey player, Alex Danson, was on hand with her Bronze medal from the 2012 Olympics to inspire participants and volunteers alike and it was Stefan’s job to show Alex around. Here’s what Alex had to say about Stefan:
“Stefan exemplifies everything the Trust values in Young Leaders and he was a superb role model for every one of the students that attended the event. Not only did he have the task of looking after me all day (!) he had not only time, but advice and genuine enthusiasm for every young person that approached him as well. Having attended the summer Olympics and believing in the games promise to inspire a generation; it appears to me that Young Ambassadors like Stefan will be the true stars fulfilling this mission. He encompasses the qualities to not only do just that but take these into his future endeavours and career path. I wish him all the best and extend this to all your other students following leadership pathways. Stefan is a fantastic example and ambassador for your school.”
Well done to Sam, Faye and Stefan what a fantastic job you all did!
