This week we’re marking European Languages Week at Oathall.
Our Year 7s have recorded a song in either French, German or Spanish and they will be voting for their favourite in our very own Eurovision Song Contest later this week.
Year 8 are taking part in our annual ‘Say hello in a foreign language’ competition. Students are given a grid with a number of foreign languages and they have to ask adults around the school if they can say hello in any of those languages. The winner is the student with the most languages signed off by a teacher.
Year 9 are looking at using languages in the world of work and the canteen is providing a European themed menu this week, with dishes from Spain, France, Italy, German and GB of course!
Our Modern Foreign Language staff will be playing world music in the dining room and helping to serve food at lunchtime.
The LRC have put up some wonderful displays and have pt together activities for students to complete in French, Spanish and German.
Form tutors are also attempting to do the register in a foreign language with their classes all week, bonne chance!
