What is the PTA?

Oathall’s Parent Teacher Association (or PTA) is a friendly and enthusiastic group of people with a desire to contribute positively to school life. Like other PTAs, we fundraise for those extra things that the school budget cannot cater for whilst strengthening the school community through social events and activities.

What does the PTA do?

We organise a number of events throughout the year to raise funds for the school, these include car boot sales, quiz nights, raffles and tombolas.  Family and friends can also take part in our monthly lottery, OPTAlot! which guarantees a cash prize every month!

We also hold monthly meetings where we discuss business and organise arrangements for events and activities.

Although you automatically become a member of the PTA as soon as your child joins the school, we are always looking for new volunteers to take an active role in our work. You can help out at just one event or offer your time on a more regular basis, it really is up to you.

If you would like to help out, please email us via opta@oathall.org with your name and telephone number and someone will get back to you, or simply have a chat with one of us at any of the events we run.

Where do we spend the money raised?

In recent years, the PTA has raised over £20,000 which has paid for amongst other things a laser cutter for DT, new sound systems in the hall and the dance studio, costumes for theatre productions, cookers, and science equipment.
