Early in the Autumn term all Mid-Sussex secondary schools traditionally hold Open Evening events for families with students in Year 6. These events are always popular and extremely well attended. Sadly, the current restrictions on gatherings and social distancing mean that it is not possible or appropriate to invite you into our schools as we normally would.
Having discussed this between all the schools in Mid-Sussex it is clear that we will need to provide opportunities for you to gain a feel for the schools initially online with virtual open evenings and virtual tours. Details of these events will be available on each school website.
We are very sorry that we cannot welcome you into our schools at this time but will look for opportunities later in the year to engage and support all families with the transition and plans for secondary school.
We hope you are all safe and well and that your children have had a good start to Year 6 and have a happy and successful year.
Below are the scheduled dates for Open Evenings, but please bear in mind that these may be subject to change:
Warden Park Secondary Academy – Wednesday 23rd September
St Paul’s Catholic College – Thursday 24th September
Downlands Community School – Thursday 1st October
The Burgess Hill Academy – Thursday 8th October
On behalf of Mid Sussex Headteachers and Principals.
COVID-19 restrictions mean it is currently not possible to allow tours of the school.
