What is our vision in Hospitality & Catering ?
The Department is committed to providing and developing a food curriculum which provides all students with the broadest possible range of opportunities so that they can acquire the personal skills and aptitude to thrive.
We want our learners to be reflective, independent, resourceful, innovative and resilient problem solvers who are not afraid to fail. We will encourage a caring, safe, inclusive, tolerant, disciplined and innovative environment which allows students to investigate and experiment in a safe, supportive and positive atmosphere enabling all students to reach their full potential.
The study of Hospitality and Catering is to provide students with the opportunity to develop an appreciation of food from different cultures, understand the demands of a range of diets, understand the importance of Health and Safety standards , and learn life skills that will help them make wise choices and lead healthier lives. Students will develop higher level skills that equip them for further learning and wider skills valued by employers. An opportunity to visit Hospitality and Catering establishments in the local area is planned each year.
