Farm studiesThere has been a farm at Oathall Community College for over 70 years – it was set up as part of the local response to the national ‘Dig for Victory’ campaign during the Second World War.

The farm is a unique feature of our school and students can earn practical qualifications whilst studying with us in agriculture and land based operations, it also offers a range of extra-curricular opportunities.

Work Based Agriculture ( Level 1)

This is a two-year course which has a nationally recognised reputation for supporting and guiding students of all abilities and experiences, to success. By adding extra-curricular work on the farm and additional tuition some students can go on to gain a Level 2 qualification.

Work Based Land Based Operations (Level 1)

Students from local schools can attend Oathall for a day each week as part of a county-wide programme. It is a two-year course and has a nationally recognised reputation for supporting and guiding students of all abilities and experiences to successful full Level 1 certification.

Both courses help students to develop skills and experience which are valued by future employers and further educational colleges.
